Is Seint Beauty Good For Oily Skin?

Is Seint Beauty Good For Oily Skin?

Hey there!

I'm glad you're here because it likely means that you are wanting to try Seint (formerly Maskcara Beauty) but you're skeptical because you have oily skin.. am I right or am I right? You're not alone! This is probably one of the top five questions/concerns I get as a Seint Artist, will Seint products work if I have oily skin? The short answer is HELL YES! Don't let the fact that Seint's products are cream scare you away. Cream makeup is great for all skin types EVEN OILY SKIN!

Before I dive into some tips and best products to use for oily skin, I want to make you aware of my awesome Seint (formerly Maskcara) troubleshooting video I made! It covers a lot if you are already using Seint products and are struggling (whether you're oily or not) click below to watch!

Also, in full disclosure, I don't personally have oily skin. I have dry skin but I do have over 4 years of training and clients and friends experience with oily skin that I've learned a few tricks that have really helped my oily girls!

ONE: SKINCARE. I know you've likely heard this before and I totally get that even with the most perfect routine and high end products that you can still be oily and still get acne, that's just our natural skin! However I know that great makeup starts with great skin! Every night you should be removing your makeup (I reccommend a microfiber cloth to keep it natural) then use a gentle cleanser, then a moisturizer- yep that's right, if you are oily you actually DO need to moisturize to help your skin stop overproducing those oils. Apply at night before bed! I honestly love the Milk creme from Seint, it has been a game changer for dry and oily women and it can help decrease your acne breakouts! Toner is also great for helping to balance out your pH levels and tighten/brighten your skin.

TWO: PREP. Do not moisturize in the morning (if you're oily, it's best to do it at night) Normally I don't recommend using a primer with Seint because it's just great on its own! So try it without first! However if you do feel better about using one then just make sure to find one that is not silicon based (not only is that bad for your skin, it doesn't sit well with cream products) A few that have been tried and loved by other clients are “Becca Matte” “One Heck of A Blot” or if you're on a budget then “E.L.F Putty Primer” I believe that most stores let you return a product if you only used it once or twice so try a few different ones out until you find one you love!

THREE: APPLICATION + TOOLS. This step isn't a science and doesn't need to be complicated! I have found that less is more, especially with creams and with oily skin. A brush like the Blush+Bronzer from Seint applies the makeup lighter and simultaneously blends and buffs. It's also a super versatile brush! (Double sided- can be used for foundation, contour, blush, bronzer, powder) I also like the Powder brush for oily skin because the wedge side can be used to apply the highlight and contour and either end can be used to set your powder!

Also pressing and stippling verses swiping really helps the product go where it's supposed to! Another tool that's great to have is the perfector sponge for blending and removing excess product. It's also great for lightly setting in your finishing powder!

FOUR: SET. And of course the final tip and step is to set! Keep in mind that Seint is MEANT to have a dewey skin-like finish, not dry or flat. It shouldn't be super shiny and oily of course but if you're used to a super matte look from maybe powder then give it a few days to get used to the natural finish of Seint! However for staying power, I always reccommend a setting spray. I'd suggest Urban Decay all nighter or the Stay setting spray from Seint! It is seriously one of my favorite products and works so well! If you'd also or would rather set with a powder then here's a few tried and loved ones! “One Heck of A Blot” “Peach Perfect” or “Airspun” . The Vanilla Dust powder from Seint is okay in my opinion but not my top choice.

At the end of the day, Seint should be easy and fast but it's also not a miracle brand that will work for everyone so if you're just not loving it, that's okay! If you do want to love it and just need help then email me! (If you already have an artist, please consult with them first) You can also email me for a free Seint shade match anytime or just take my Seint Beauty Routine Quiz here

I hope these tips are helpful to you if you have oily skin and want to try Seint Beauty! I have used and loved this makeup brand for 5 years and doubt I will ever use anything to else!
